Graaff-Reinet

Attractions include a half day trip including Reinet House, a craft shop, the beautiful old church, the Valley of Desolation in Camdeboo National Park and a visit to the only distillery in the world outside Mexico that produces Agave spirit.
 

Nieu Bethesda - Owl House and/or Rubidge Fossil Collection

A half day trip to Nieu Bethesda's noted Owl House, once the home of an "eccentric" lady who created large number of unique statuettes, mostly of owls.  There is also a fossil museum in Nieu Bethesda, beer brewery and goats' cheese manufacturer.  In the area is a renowned collection of prehistoric Karoo fossils which is found at the home of the late Dr. Sidney Rubidge.
